Every transformation below is a real rug, a real client, and a real result — from our laboratory in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Every rug tells a story. Here's what happens when science meets craftsmanship.
Some rugs don't need cleaning — they need scientific intervention. This is a full documentation of one of the most complex restorations we've performed: five stages, four protocols, and a result that speaks for itself.
Pre-wash inspection mapped every urine track line and structural weak point. Harmonic dusting removed concentrated dry sediment before any water was introduced. Fringe was banded for protection. Compressed air extracted pet hair embedded deep in the foundation.
The rug was sealed in a Dwell Bag with 50 gallons of water to dissolve urine salts crystallized deep in the fiber. The water turned the color of pure urine — visual proof the rug had become a concentrated reservoir.
Orbital washing with rotary brushes broke up remaining surface tension. Reverse power washing pushed contamination out through the front. The centrifuge then extracted 95% of dissolved waste — in minutes, not days.
A peroxide-based blend was applied to residual staining. UV lights activated the chemistry over 24–48 hours — with automated misting every 45 minutes to sustain the reaction. Result: 70–90% stain elimination on what washing alone couldn't reach.
Pile conditioning restored the wool's natural softness. Hand brushing while hanging set the nap direction. Sprout trimming and corner repair completed the transformation — from contaminated to exhibition-ready.
